- This is a full-time bursary program.
- Candidates must study on a full-time basis.
- All clinical hours must be completed (where required).

- Department provides financial assistance towards the qualification.
- Registration
- Study fees
- Examination fees
- The Department does not pay accommodation cost.
Please note above will only be covered if a full-time bursary contract is signed with the Department of Health and Wellness.

- Bursary holders are required to work back their bursary obligation.
- The obligation is worked back in the following two ways:
Community service year must be completed (where required).
Once the community service year is completed the bursary holder must apply for a post within the
Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness. The bursary holder must then work back the remaining years
as per the contractual agreement.
Please note:
- The community service year will count towards the bursary holder’s 1st year of the bursary obligation.
- Internship does not count as working back obligation.
- Bursary holders must pay back the monies if they do not work back their bursary obligation.

- A South African citizen residing in the Western Cape.
- Applicants must have a matric certificate.
- Students who have been accepted or awaiting acceptance at a relevant accredited Higher Education Institution (HEI)
- Applicants that do not have a criminal record

- Apply at university or college (HEI) for your required qualification.

2. Log in by using your username & password.
3. Click the "Apply Online" button to begin your application
4. Complete steps 1 - 5

Please note: Ensure all documents are ready; scanned and named appropriately for uploading.

- Identity document (ID) (Certified)
- Matric certificate (Certified)
- Parents/ Guardian income (No affidavits will be accepted), documents like payslips, SASSA letter or SARS tax certificate will be accepted.
- Proof of residence
- Motivational letter
- Proof of disability (if applicable)

You can apply for more than one qualification; however, the bursary will only be awarded for one qualification.
