Overview
The Western Cape Government: Health is commencing with an internship programme in clinical engineering for undergraduates residing in the Western
Cape and holding South African citizenship.
Internship Programmes are a government initiative in providing the unemployed youth an opportunity to gain work
integrated experience, it creates opportunities for growth and employment.
In this programme, an engineering student that has successfully completed all required S4 subjects in Electrical,
Mechanical, Mechatronics or Clinical Engineering, will be exposed to all the Clinical Engineering units within
the Metro on a rotation schedule. This programme will provide a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience
in the maintenance of medical equipment.
What Does the CEIP aim to achieve?
- To enhance the employment opportunities for the unemployed youth and to address the skills shortages of clinical engineering technicians
in South Africa.
- The clinical engineering interns will obtain industry specific skills and gain work experience.
- A monthly stipend (allowance) will be paid to successful candidates.

Anyone who resides in the Western Cape. Must be a SA Citizen with SA valid ID.
